JUSTIFICATION:
The Literature Review for Web Based Instruction that I created allowed me to continue research while I was creating lessons in my Multimedia Design course. This litreture review covers the Effectiveness of Web-Based Instruction for adult learners. I try to apply current research on the use of technology in education when I plan and execute my lessons. I created the Web Based Instruction Literature Review as a resource which combines both summary and synthesis on the topic of technology and its use in web and computer assisted instruction. Various literature on the subject has allowed me to learn different perspectives on the subject that help get a good understanding of what I need to implement or exclude in my lessons as we advance in technology. Internet technology and web is part of our daily lives now and giving a new interpretation of old material, the Literature Review traces the intellectual progression of traditional teaching and learning combined and modern web assisted instruction and adult learners interaction. I’ve learned through my literature review that although web based instruction has enhanced the way we learn, it is more affective when combined with traditional teaching methods. I apply this principle when developing my lesson plan while I taught the Multimedia course at the College of the Canyons Community College.
The litreture review also helped provide insight and serves as a handy guide to me when I am in doubt about teaching and learning with web based technology. It has served as a stepping stone for other teachers I’ve shared it with, who have little time to conduct research on their own, but are planning learning environments and experiences in the area of web based instruction and integrating classroom lessons and activities in their future.
